Lido Key, Florida
Baptized by the Gulf of Mexico
purified and relinquished of the
perils that unjustly eroded
my well being.
Caressed unconditionally by the
ocean breeze touching my skin
and playing with my overgrown
hair as the sun still forces my eyes
to squint with much effort almost exhaustion.
Faint voices carried by the wind, only
deciphering adult or child bobbing life
capsules in the green blue water crystals
glimmering across the beach large ornate
buildings sit behind across the two lane
road hidden by grass.
This is peace induced loneliness with
strangers children cries captured by the
wind and brought to me with appreciation.
You are never truly alone in
this world although being lonely is
as bad as drinking too much wine
or as good as fresh coconut pulled
from a Puerto Rican man from
Luqiao and served half shell but there
are no coconuts here only strangers
to provide the wind with enough material
to keep me satisfied.
I shall be soliloquy by the waves as
I give thanks to Gaia for the beauty
that life is questioning if happiness is
merely an illusion or what is not.
